Exercises are done with the purpose of improving on a specific sport or activity.

Examples:
Training to improve your golf swing, vertical jump, or 40 yard sprint.

This type of training is usually used in conjunction with a regular fitness routine for overall health. A wide variety of training can be done depending on the sport or activity including speed and agility training, power and strength training, reaction timing, precision and accuracy, plyometrics, core training, sports nutrition, injury prevention, and in/out of season conditioning programs.
